What animes are dark, with a very very good story that suck you in from the beginning can i watch? preferably an anime thats quite modern and not made in 1990's.

Claymore

Elfen lied

I started watched blood+ but it looks boring

Death note

I dont what else to watch?

Bleach can sometimes be like that. Fate/Stay Night, Code Geass, Karin, Comic Party, My Hime, DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Angelic Layer, Chobits, etc.

erm...

Majin tantei Neuro (not sure about the title, just the neuro part)--it's dark, but not to the extreme like elfen lied.

Schooldays--the ending's super dark but the begining bored me
