What Did Heidi & Spender do to Lauren on The Hills?

I just stared watching and I can see all the tension but I can't figure out what actually happened. Any insight?

They started rumors about Lauren...the rumor was that she and her ex Jason made a s*x tape....also Heidi kind of dissed Lauren because of Spencer....keep watching...u'll fall in love with The Hills...sort of like  modern Soaps. Lauren is my favorite.

Dee's summary is right. I wish they could just be friends again, too! But that can never happen while Heidi is with Spencer.

When Heidi started dating Spencer he was a total womanizer- he tried to cheat on Heidi with Audrina, but Audrina didn't want him. He even went to a club with 3 Playmates and asked one of them if he could go on a naked picnic with her. He thought Heidi was out of town, but she turned up at the club and caught him with them.

So, Lauren warned Heidi that he wasn't good for her, but Heidi obviously has no self-respect because she still spent every spare moment with him. Spencer knew that Lauren was trying to warn Heidi not to get too involved with him and he felt threatened, so he declared war on Lauren.

Then, as Dee said, somebody began a rumour that Lauren and her ex made a s*x tape, but it has never been confirmed whether or not Heidi and Spencer started the rumour. Perez Hilton broke the news to the world, and he won't reveal his source.

A guy called Brody came into the show because he was Spencer's best friend, but when Spencer and Lauren had their falling out Brody wanted to stay friends with Lauren AND Spencer, so now Spencer won't speak to him.

Because Brody is loyal and doesn't like drama, he was reluctant to get involved in the rumour controversy, but he knew that Lauren was really upset so he did eventually tell Lauren that he was 100% certain that Spencer and Heidi started the rumour.

Spencer is extremely possessive. You'll see that Heidi tries to have a life (friends, a career) outside of Spencer, but he keeps dragging her back in to his pathetic little world. He does make the show very entertaining, though!

Heidi and Lauren used to be best friends and roommates. Heidi started dating Spencer---who she started blowing Lauren off for all the time, Lauren would get upset with Heidi for not spending any time with her and being with Spencer instead. Because of this, Heidi started inviting Lauren to spend time with her and Spencer. Spencer was annoyed by Lauren saying that Lauren was trying to control Heidi. Heidi, stuck between a rock and a hard place basically felt like she had to choose either Spencer or Lauren. SHE NEVER CHOSE--she always wanted to be friends with Lauren AND be with Spencer--*it's hard not having your best friend care for your boyfriend and vice versa* Heidi moved out of her apartment with Lauren into an apartment with Spencer---then rumors started circulating that Spencer and Heidi started and spread a rumor that Lauren created a pornographic video with her ex boyfriend, Jason. After that, Lauren and Heidi have tried to reconcile but Lauren cannot get past the rumors that Heidi maintains she had nothing to do with.

I think they should just be friends! They are both great!
