I own a quiznos restaurant and my guest satisfaction is at 45%

we have a good product but my staff keeps messing it up. (ie. forgetting ingredients and messing up orders) . At first i thought they were common mistakes but now the customer complaints are coming in daily and most never come back and now my pockets are starting to hurt and we are ready to close the store.

i talk to them but it goes in one ear and out the other.

what can i do to fix his problem to increase the guest satisfaction so i don't loose my business?

  1. Fire your employees and start from scratch!?!

  2. Get some new employees .. a bit more savvy ...  you pay peanuts ... you get monkeys ... !!

  3. first take a look at yourself....

have you provided adequate training for your staff? are your staff well taken care of so they WANT to do a good job?

if you've taken care of your end, then you need to start firing and hiring... when you hire new people, check out their references to make sure they are good workers...

  4. Hello,

As a business owner myself, I work for myself. I work hard to make a good profitable business. Your relationships with your customers is key! When you provide bad service and bad food, they will not come back.

This is my suggestion, it is hard to find good workers, if your current crew is not doing the job, then let them go! No more Mr. NICE GUY! It is your business, finances, and reputation being put on the line, not there's!

Get in a crew that will get the job done right!

Do some great pre-screening before hiring them and I would also do a preliminary (traing period) if they do not pass, do not hire them.

I hope this helps you out!

    Good Luck!

  5. i own a construction company and i found out that when you own a business basically you become a babysitter , my advice to you is to pick your best employees and start immediatelly working with them for one week and train them give them the scope of work and how you need the sandwiches done follow up with your costumers with a print card ask them how are you doin and how can you serve them better / also make insentives and punch cards let them know you are the boss // no complains for the week buying a movie or something // if there are complains send them home for a day //

well hope will work for you // its working for me

  6. Sorry but I agree with Hottie.

I'd walk in with check in hand and pay them two weeks severance and wish them all well.

Then I'd start rebuilding the staff from the ground up. I'd concentrate my efforts on the most profitable shift whatever that is. I wouldn't be out of the restaurant ANY minute of the day it was open. I'd want to be there if any customer was mishandled.

If you want to be a business owner then be one. You can't run a business part-time.

You might not like to hear this but in my experience at running businesses the people that work there are generally a reflection of the person who hired them. If that person is an *** and lazy they people that generally they hire will be exactly like that.

If you did the hiring its time to start looking in the mirror. Its time for an honesty check here. How much do you want this. How much have you put in to it. I'm not talking money. Have you really committed yourself to this or did you think it was just going to be easy because Quiz told you so.

Business isn't a game. It's 24/7. Holidays and weekends are for employees not employers.

  7. i am a restaurant bus. owner and in these times it is a struggle to keep the doors open. every customer is precious. i agree with a lot of the advice given. keep anyone who is consistent and get rid of the others. in this economy people are looking for jobs so make sure you put a sign on your door hiring. ask any good employees if they know anyone they would recommend to work there. we have hired a lot of help thru the good ones. the next point is especially now you need to be there. stick with them and lead by example. if you get attitude. let them go out the door. make sure you thank the customers and ask for feedback from them. smile and be friendly. dont be over friendly with your staff, they will run over you. look for leaders and explain to them what you need from them.

oh and it always helps to give something free. we give a free water bottle with every carry out to help build it up. if they spend over $20 they get a free two liter pop

    also you could give candy.

i hope it gets better for you.

  8. You need to get new employees. And be personally involved, Even if you have to spend all your time there. Before its too late. Making Sandwiches is not rocket science and nearly anybody should be able to do a good job of it. No more Mr. Nice Guy. Its your business, not theirs.  Quizno's could be very successful business if done right. Its a proven formula.
