  1. Contact the Canadian consulate in either Los Angeles or SF. In general, you'll need to be accepted as an immigrant and received "landed immigrant" status. That generally makes it possible to live and work here. Regrettably, I am not sure about the precise requirements for immigrating ... there will be the basic security checks and it will be very, very helpful if you are bringing some sort of a job skill that is in demand.

Good luck! If you have any questions about living here in Saskatchewan (think of it as the Canadian Minnesota), post a question with "Saskatchewan" in it, and I'll find it and do my best to answer it.

  2. www.cic.gc.ca    Canadian immigration website - everything you need to know is there.  But yes you can live and work there if you are a legal resident, that means having been granted permanent resident status or having a work visa.

Most Californians can't even spell Saskatchewan or know where it is, much less think of living there hence the jocular replies.

  3. Buy a coat.  And a big closet to store all your regret.

  4. Move to the UK instead, that's what I am going to do.

  5. Contact Canadian emigration, it's the federal office responsible they will answer all your questions.

  6. Buy a plane ticket, swim, get a boat or ferry ticket. Its up to you.
