  1. you need to find someone who can do it.. chances are if you are asking how to achieve this kick you are plenty flexible.  You need to find someone who can do the kick very well and learn from them.  I have seen a 250lb guy do some of the most amazing kicks ever, and it isnt like he has a 40 inch vertical...its because he has the mechanics down.  


  2. I would suggest you do some yoga or pilates. Something that will put less tension in your body so you can be more flexible. After a few yoga positions you can be really flexible. Then try doing a split, don't force it, just go down low as far as you can. Do that every day untill you can touch the floor. But don't force your self. Take it slow everday and push your self down a little more. Then I think you'll be able to do that kick. Because, basically that kick is a split in the air. Well hope that helped.

  3. flexibilty helps but as long as you can actually kick is fine.  Really what you need is to not be afraid of falling.  most of the time people cant do it because they put their feet down to fast out of fear of falling.
