What Do Y'all Think About the Documentary Soledad O'Brien Covered on CNN: Black in America?

I think the special did not do a good job of portraying all black people. They told one side. They didn't talk about successful black people and how they surpassed racism and opposition to get to where they are. I thought the special could have been more uplifting. And to Laniki - or whatever your name is -- everyone realizes that other people went through struggles as well. The thing about the African American struggle is that they do not have any access to their history. As a black woman, I do not know what part of Africa my ancestors came from, so I am out of touch with my family history. No other race has that issue. Sometimes you need to think deeper about an issue before you go grouping everyone together.

The Black experience has been tough. So was the Polish experience, the Native American Indian experience, the Jewish experience, etc.
