I remember the footage of her returning home to her kids with a big big hug for them. I think that footage showed her very happy and genuine.

I remember how she suffered when she realized that Charles had married her, even though he loved someone else. I remember her dignity and honesty in her situation, and I remember her as the first royal who was forthcoming as a real person (she was not a member of the monarchy who seemed on some pedastal). I remember thinking how unfair it was that she was not allowed to keep her princess status when she and Charles divorced; a travesty, considering it was not her who was deceitful going into the marriage. I remember her great love for her boys. I remember that she turned a bad situation into a good one, by using her fame to better the world.

I remember when she did that, too. I was very impressed.  I was also impressed when she took up the issue of the land mines and held the little girl who got hurt by one of those horrible things.

Diana was truly was a lovely woman of charm and compassion. Despite her various issues and troubles, she still made time for people who were less fortunate than herself.  So sad she was taken before her time.
