Kinda like a fish, only with a bit more of a humanoid figure.

Definatly not like a human with a tail. Theirs ear would sooo pop uner all that pressure...

Well there hair can be any color, same with their tail.their tail color denotes their social status. the more vibrant the color of the tail the higher up they are. the shape of their tail is long, flexi  and the fins at the end is forked like that of a dolphin. Their powers are to  be able to breath under the water, but they can sing, sirens, a race of mer folk, bring men to the death. their is tan just like humans.
