  1. A hard Slider

  2. Nothing matches being able to throw a 95+ mph fastball. Look at all the great strikeout pitchers in history, and the one thing they have in common is the ability to bring the heat.  They may have great curves, sliders, sinkers, and/or splitters, but none of those pitches are nearly as effective if you're not throwing gas out there.

  3. Nawww I am going to have to say a Fast Ball

  4. it all depends. 0-2 count id say high fastball, 1-2 count prob a change up or slider in the dirt but it all depends on the picthes that were thrown before and the hitter.

but if i had to pick one, it would be the ephus

  5. The Gyroball

  6. A good breaking ball is usually the key to striking out a batter. A 12-6 curve is usually a good one to use or a sweeping curve.

  7. It depends on the pitches you have thrown to the batter if you have thrown all fastballs i would throw a off speed pitch such as a change up if you have thrown a off speed pitch in the count i would go with a high inside  slider  or a low outside fastball

  8. It all depends on what was thrown beforehand.

If it was 97 cheese, then a 75 MPH Santana change is the best.

But without knowing what was thrown before, there's nothing like a slider down and away to get a guy to whiff.

  9. depends on the pitcher. slow pitcher will depend on like curves and sinkers and breaking "trick" pitches while all a really fastball oriented pitcher needs is some heat and maybe a change up

  10. Changeup. Look at Tim Lincecum. He starts out the at bat with 2 fast balls usually for two strikes. Then for the 3rd pitch, he throws a changeup for the strikeout, which completely fools the hitter.

  11. I'm gonna say a nice good curveball

  12. Sinker

  13. well, i think upper 90's heat for the hitters with lesser plate discipline, a mid 90's two seam with large lateral break (think tim lincecum's 2 seam, its nasty) for those who are annoyingly patient on close balls, and a good, late-breaking slider for the rest (Randy Johnson, for one). of course, a change up would achieve the same effect for most.

  14. I'll have to agree, especially in Mo's hamds.

Isn't he ever going to get old?

  15. anyone with decent baseball knowledge knows fast ball, the other pitches keep the hitter off balance.

  16. seeing Trevor Hoffman play for many years, i think is the change up,it makes the fast ball seem faster and makes hitters look bad, when u see their back foot come off the ground cuz they are in front of the ball........
