  1. It was recently revealed that he was an FBI mole on the Warren Commission. He is said to have persuaded the two skeptical members to accept the lone gunman theory.

  2. it is already in, not much, but then he was only there to fill the chair until a new electon was held

  3. One of the most unique things about him was that he was the only president who never got an electoral vote.

After Agnew resigned, he was chosen by Nixon as VP.  Nixon then resigned (he was NOT impeached, even though it's likely that he would have been), and Ford pardoned him, ensuring that whoever got the Democrat nomination was the next president.

He'll be a footnote in history, remembered only in questions in Trivial Pursuit. Memorize the above and you'll get them right every time a "Ford" question comes up.

  4. He'll be overlooked for the most part. He will also be known as the President who took office when Nixon was impeached.

  5. I think he'll continue to gain in stature. We needed a down-to-earth man in the White House after everything went on with Nixon, and he met that challenge very well. I also give him credit for checking his ego at the door and appointing a very talented staff.

I was proud to vote for him in 1976. He wasn't a great campaigner on the national level, and made some mistakes along the way. Still, the country was in the mood for a change at that point and Carter snuck in.

  6. A good man who was ill-equipped to be president

  7. he was clumsy

  8. Probably not much, and certainly much less than he deserves.  He was the only Republican president in the last 50 years who actually reduced the deficit.  And Republicans say we need to vote for them because Democrats spend too much.

  9. He was a healer at a time when the nation needed healing.  I think history will look favorably on him.

  10. Dimwit.

  11. I actually liked and admired Gerald Ford because he was a decent, well-intended man. But, like Jimmy Carter, who is also a very decent, well-intended man, Gerald Ford wasn't meant to be president.

Carter had the brains but not the toughness. Ford was simply a decent guy who was promoted up to a job he wasn't equipped to handle.

  12. President Ford was an acceptable president who helped heal the nation and helped the nation move forward. He didn't need to have a great deal of skill at that point in time. He just needed to be decent. I think he'll be seen as comforting and not much else. There are presidents that cause a lot of damage and some that do some good and then there are the benign ones. Ford was benign and that isn't so bad.

  13. Now, he is looked at as kind of a buffoon. In history, he will be looked at as someone who did a good job in a difficult time.

I will look at him as the enemy that went to michigan.

  14. He was a good man who helped the country recover after the crimes of Nixon.
