  1. B.

  2. A.  It is my body and no one can tell me what to do with it or how to keep it safe.  If I am injured in an accident I do NOT expect the government to care for me.  VOTE LIBERTARIAN!

  3. Unfair? Life's unfair.

    B. Why the **** should we pay with our lives for some crackpot who doesn't feel like buckling up?

  4. B.  And to Mr. Smith, do you also have a DNR on your person at all times?

  5. B.  Since taxpayers pay for police/fire/rescue services our money is spent more wisely by not spending even more hours scraping bodies off the highway.

  6. As a police officer for the past 27 years, I can definitely say that the use of seatbelts has saved countless lives in accidents.

The argument that "it's my life and I'll do as I want" does not take into account the expense of ambulances, emergency rooms, surgery, recovery time, loss of job, etc. .

    I vote "B".

  7. I think it's a goodie.

  8. It is a side effect of a crappy law. It is federal law that hospitals can not turn patients away, even if they can't pay. So if Joe Public does not wear his seat belt and gets in an accident, some hospital will be forced to treat him. This costs hospitals billions of dollars every year and is one of the reasons health care is so expensive. To minimize this expense states force you to wear seat belts so if you get in an accident you wont be hurt as bad and the hospitals wont lose as much money.

If you want to get rid of seat belt laws, you must fiirst get rid of the law requiring hospitals to treat people regardless of their ability to pay.

So, to directly answer your question: it is both A and B. It takes away your freedom to keep you safe because otherwise hospitals would go out of business.

  9. A. The government doesn't make sure we're safe from all the harmful chemicals that the FDA feeds us.. "The only way to prevent or cure any disease is with a pill"... Its my life I'll protect it the way I want.... Also, I was in one accident without my seat belt and i recieved alot of injuries but if i had it on i would've been choked to death

  10. B - by the way - it is your body - but my responsibilty to support what goes into your feeding tube for the rest of your life because you feel so violated and inconvienenced by the 1/2 secound it takes to buckle your belt.

Were so sorry for the trouble.

  11. A. & Right on, Eric, vote Libertarian.

And as far as feeding tubes are concerned, that too, should not be my responsibility.

  12. B. It also helps protect other travelers when all drivers and passengers are seat belted.
