Daphne is hired help for Frasier and his dad.  She's technically Martin's physical therapist but also the housekeeper, maid, etc for the whole home.  Niles is completely in love with her but doesn't tell her until her the morning of her wedding to Donny.  Daphne and Niles finally get together and SPOILER ALERT: in the series finale, Daphne gives birth to their first child.
