  1. You need to be in the top 10% of your class, attain an almost perfect score in the SAT's, be well-rounded in sports and clubs and have done community service. You will also have to pass an interview with a university representative after submitting an excellent application with a superior essay. There are many more applicants than seats in the Ivy League.

  2. First of all, you definitely need to take all of the AP and Honors classes available to you at your high school, as well as achieve around a 4.3 GPA, which means getting all A's. Also, you need to make sure you participate greatly in at least 3 or 4 extra curricular activities, such as clubs, sports, and volunteer work. If you can keep that up, and get awards, loans, and scholarships (especially a gift scholarship), you should have no problem getting into an Ivy League University.

Also, I agree with the other answerer when he said to earn high test scores and do something unique, like writing a novel, because some schools admit you based on test scores alone. In addition, great leadership qualities are a need to get into an Ivy League.

  3. High grades, high test scores, good activities are the base - you need all of them to get in, but that alone won't guarantee you a spot.  Find some way to stand out from the crowd - do something unique.  Write a novel, get published, do original scientific research, run for elected office (outside of school), start a business or non-profit, that kind of thing.
