  1. no thats the chiropratcor.

jeez, not how its spelled but the orthopedic doctor deals with bone issues

  2. Orthopedic Doctor would be a person who would deal with bones.  They can deal with any joints.  Spine would be part of their specialty.  An Orthopedic Surgean would be someone who would operate on your bones.  An Orthopedic Doctor on the other hand would tend to be more like a chiropractor but with an actual medical degree and a smaller chance of inflicting damage (My dad got really messed up by a couple of chiropractors but his Orthopedic guy does wonders.  If you live in the Phoenix area, e-mail me and I will give you her information).

  3. As little as possible when it comes to the spine!

Orthopedic surgery or orthopedics (also spelled orthopaedics) is the branch of surgery concerned with injuries to, or conditions involving, the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons address most muscle injuries that require surgery, and some are also skilled at dealing with congenital conditions that result in orthopedic deformities, such as spastic cerebral palsy, using both surgical and non-surgical means.
