What Does a 1GB memory card do to your Camera?

Umm imm get a camera soon and i was wonderin...if a camera came with 32 mb....and i could record only for 17 sec...would a 1GB increase that amount of time to record???....oh yeah and the camera could only take a few pics..like only 8 to 10....would the memory card also help increase the amount of pictures able to be taken???....and whats the best type of digital camera u should buy???and if i bout that camera Kodak...how much video secs/mins/hours would i possibly get

  1. Of course the larger the memory card the more space you have to store things.  A 1GB card holds about 30 times what your cameras internal memory does.

    The brand of your camera does not matter.


  2. yes 1 gb is considered average space if i were you i would buy the 2 gb memory card nixon cameras work well. with 1 gb mabe 700-1000 pics 1-2 hr video and 2 gb is double that

  3. Yes, increasing the memory would increase both the recording time and the amount of pictures. Look on the back of the memory card packaging, it should tell you how many pictures it is expected to hold, since it depends on the resolution and size, the defaults of which are determined by the camera. Personally, I'm a fan of Sony. The cybershot series is really nice. I just got a new DSC-W170, and it's great. Kodak is a good brand, too, though, if you prefer Kodaks.

  4. Yes, a 1gb card would increase the amount of pictures/video that you can take. Basically, the bigger the memory card, the more space (you can think of it as similar to film/tape in non-digital cameras) there is.
