What Does this quote mean "A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything"?

WHY won't you kids make an attempt at these things???   This is really not so hard.  Think about it.  What does it mean when you say he "stands for nothing"?   If we were discussing politics and I said your candidate didn't stand for anything, you'd probably get angry and start to defend him.  Why?  Now for the second part.  Have you ever heard anyone say that a girl is so desperate that she'll "fall for any guy"?  What does that mean?  What does it mean if someone falls for anything?  Would you fall for anything or would you have to be convinced that it's the right thing to do first?

  Now, put it together.  A person who doesn't stand for anything will fall for anything.

   You CAN DO THIS!!!  Exercise your brain cells.

If you don't have any values or opinions that are strong enough for you to support you may be easily persuaded into someone else's beliefs.  or If you don't stand up for yourself you will be taken advantage of.

If you lack "core values" by which you can make moral decisions then you can be persuaded by other people's  arguments, thereby falling for their line of reasoning, flawed though it may be.

Example:

Water-board torture-argument: The end justifies the means.

OR

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you-A core value on which a person would oppose torture and take a stand against it.
