I am stupid...

I already sent my matriculation fee to the college I wanna go to and today I checked the financial aid award .,.

I had just seen it , but now I was checking every detail and I was kinda concerned about something..

THE TUITION IS 23000 aproximately.

ROOM AND BOARD : 9000

and my financial aid award is like 22000

At first I thought I had to pay only 1000 (23000-22000)

but now I saw the ROOM AND BOARD thing....

I have to pay that too??????

  1. If you are planning to live on campus, yes you have to pay that too. It's your rent and food. Tuition is just the cost of going to classes. If the college is near your home you could always commute and thus avoid the fee. How much was your efc? If it was a lot less than $10,000, go talk to the financial aid office to see what can be done.

  2. food and housing

  3. Then you wont have to pay the room and board if your not going to live on campus.

  4. Well it depends.  If this is a BILL from the college (you are staying in the dorm) then yes.  You would have to pay this.

If this is a breakdown of the "Cost of attendance" to your school.  Sometimes accompanied to financial aid Award letters then no, you wouldn't have to pay this... again, unless you are living in the dorm.    Room and board is an estimation of how much it costs you to put a roof over your head and feed yourself.
