What Exactly is TSS????

I see it all the time in the womens health section. Im sure im just being really dumb but I cant think of the answer right now. Please no rude remarks. Im just asking.

TSS stands for toxic shock syndrome. It is a very rare condition that that is caused by certain kinds of bacteria in the bloodstream. TSS can happen if a woman uses a tampon all day and all night. For this reason, it's recommended that women change their tampon often, and use the lowest absorbent tampon possible.

Stop using tampons if you vomit and have a high fever, diarrhea, and a sunburn-type rash while using one. Tell your parents immediately, and see a health care provider right away.
