What Fabric has an incredilbly high tensile strength?

I need to know of a very durable, but cheap fabric that has a HIGH tensile strength.

  1. Polyester (Rayon) has the best price/performance ratio, for room temperature applications. It gets weak when hot.

    Based on resin prices,

    Kevlar, Nomex are better, but probably about 6x or more costly.

    Nylon 11 or 12 somewhat better, probably 3x cost. Nylon 6 similar performance, 2x cost.

  3. Not sure about the tensile strengths but 2 fabrics we used

    in fabricating aircraft seals were Dacron and Nomex.

    I am sure that they are less expensive then Kevlar, not sure that I would call them cheap.

  4. Kevlar is best (as used in tires and flak jackets).

    There is also rip-stop nylon as used in parachutes and ski wear.
