  1. minimum 2.5 GPA.  But here is the entire list of qualifications and information for you...Good Luck:

For students in the Class of 2008 and beyond, taking the Michigan Merit Examination (MME) is required for eligibility for the $4,000 Michigan Promise scholarship which can be used to pay for college or technical and trade schools in Michigan.

Students who pass the MME mathematics, reading, writing, and science components, with a score or 1100 or more, will qualify for early installment payments (versus a lump sum payment after they complete their sophomore year with a 2.5 grade point average or better).

Students in the Class of 2007 can qualify for the scholarship based on the MEAP.

    Installment Payments

Students receiving qualifying scores on the MME would receive $1,000 in their first year of postsecondary schooling, $1,000 in their second year, and $2,000 after two years if they have maintained a 2.5 grade point average (out of 4.0 points), and completed an associate's degree program, two-year certificate, vocational education program, or half of the requirements for a bachelor's degree. The first two installments would go to the school, and schools would have to return it to the state for students who fail to complete enrolled classes (drop out).

Students receiving qualifying MME scores will receive a notification letter from the state with a Personal Identification Number (PIN), which must be used for certification online at www.michigan.gov/promise. To claim the $2,000 balance after completion of the second year of postsecondary education, students should visit this web site to obtain an application form.

    Lump Sum Payments

Students who take the Michigan Merit Exam (MME), but do not receive qualifying scores will still receive up to $4,000 after the successful completion of two years of postsecondary education with at least a 2.5 GPA (associate's degree, two-year certificate, vocational education program or 50 percent of the academic requirements for a bachelor's degree).

To claim the full $4,000 (for those who did not qualify for the installment payments), students should visit the website at www.michigan.gov/promise for an application form.

    Prorated Scholarship Amounts

Students completing a vocational training program requiring less than two years to complete, may be eligible for a prorated scholarship amount.
