What GPS should I get?

I was thinking about getting a GPS (I'm brand new to GPS -- don't know anything about them). I'm looking for the cheapest, but the best one. I also wanted to know, are there any out there that doesn't charge a monthly fee? Please help, and thank you for the people that does.

  1. Usually GPS does not require any monthly subscription. The subscriptions are optional, for example for traffic information feeds.

You will optionally be charged for new/updated maps. But you are pretty good to go with the default map that come loaded into GPS.

About the brand, go for the one with better support. I own a Mio C320. I bought it for $150 last year. I found good support for this model on public Forums. And my personal experience with this GPS is also good. It is a nice value for money.

You would like to check if the GPS supports voice instructions. Whether it has large (at least 4.3 inches) screen and external memory card support.
