What GPS system gives Free map updates ?

I was looking at TomTom and noticed that they charge for updated maps of the usa, I think thats a ripoff, what other manufacturer offers maps for the life of the product ?

i have a tom tom and they do charge ur right,i think GARMIN is a name of 1 that gives u free updates

Get Garmin or Nextar. I used them both. Nextar runs flawlessly even under severe weather. Garmin is a little more flaky which is why I prefer Nextar which is hooked to 22 different satellites which accounts for its reliability. What I like about it is that it updates road maps on the fly. Even if their is a new route available, it is already downloaded as you drive and you are able to make detours etc...on the fly.

there is a gps called navigon. it gives free map updates. but its cheap in price and quality. and to jaun kerr, garmin doesn't give free updates, i know cuz i got one.
