What Ganguly did is right or wrong?

Cricinfo said:

"Asad Rauf, the third umpire, ruled in favour of the batsman after replays weren't entirely conclusive. But, Smith was convinced he had taken Ganguly's swing cleanly."

Smith said (to cricinfo):

"It was cleanly taken.....there is no doubt about that. The replay also suggests that the catch was clean. It's really nice to know your captain backing you during controversy."

So, Ganguly himself would have known that he was out. So, where was the spirit gone?

What do you say?

  1. He is always wrong

  2. Only replay can show reliably the correct result

  3. Only replay can show reliably the correct result.

  4. wrong ganguly was given out and in cricket decisions will go against players from time to time and it has not been proven that smith grassed the catch the video is more in favour of smith now ganguly all the way from the pitch saw smith drop the catch as he put it smith was fielding near the boundary we all know ganguly's eyes are not that good when he bats he blinks a million times which gives the impression he cant see the ball well so with that solid evidence behind him he went to the umpire and said no im not out he didnt catch the ball cleanly its pathetic that he has so much power i dont care if this tournament is in india and it was an unknown indian umpire who bowed to his request and called for the third umpire every other player has to walk when the umpire says you're out they cant tell the umpire what to do why is he the exception to the rule

  5. What he did was absolutely right, I swear by God-that catch was grassed. It was not at all a clean catch as claimed by Smith and Warne. Mind you, Sourav Ganguly is the only Tiger of the Indian team, and he has the guts to protest against wrongs, unlike most others who are more concerned of maintaining their goody goody image. Our dada doesn't care about image.  And Warne's behaviour, and the manner in which he admonished Ganguly wasn't very sportsman like either. That's why the match referee has fined both of their 10% match fee. It shows that Shane Warne himself was the guilty one. Besides, that same Warne, who himself violated all norms by doping has no moral right to cricticize Ganguly. Everyone knows what type of a charcater Shane has been. But I think that the matter has been resolved, and there is no need of any furthur controversy.
