I'm trying to understand the pace of a motocross race. I have a 2002 KX 100 and ride it behind my house around a small track thats a circle I pretty much stay in 3rd gear the whole way around. How do I get ready for racing in my backyard?(I have been riding for a month)

  1. whatever gear your conftorbal in. but just a circile??? try adding in some jumps

  2. Go to your local track and give it a go. You will need your parents to trailer your bike there.

Depending on your age, you will need them also to sign you in and pay for you.

  3. Well..

if its just a circle track, its not going to help much.

if you really want to improve then you will want to make jumps and rhythm sections and berms and stuff.

    good luck(:

  4. a circle track

  5. Unless you are intending upon doing flat track racing you really won't get much out of riding in a circle.  Get someone to take you to a motocross track to practice as you really need practice with other riders as well.

  6. if you only have a small bit of land instead of doing a circle do a figure of eight this will improve your cornering alot then when you feel confident go to a practise track and start learning to jump and ride a real track you will be able to compare yourself to the others on the track when your starting to keep up with a few people start going to some local races
