a 65 inch dlp projection hdtv, 1080p, 3 hdmi, etc. $1800.00

or

47 inch LCD HDTV 1080p , 2 hdmi, etc. $1100.00

Both TV's look great, however i hear that DLP's arent as good as LCD's because of when your sitting at an angle, but i wont be sitting at an angle all the time, I love the DLP for its size of the screen, and i Love the LCD for its slimness and great clear picture from any angle, and if i dont have an HD recieve will my games not play in HD. Please answer i'm hooking up consoles to these so if you can help, thank you

  1. Neither, DLP TV's are a dead end technology, they'll be gone from the industry in two years. LCD TV's are inferior to PDP TV's.

Get a Panasonic PDP, you'll be much happier with the image quality. It is every bit as durable as the LCD and does not suffer the contrast ratio and motion artifact problems of the LCD.

  2. well personally I'd go with the LCD cuz you might have some freinds over that have to play at a angle...

  3. Check this model out, new in market Samsung LE40A656A

, this is LCD and image quality is excellent at the moment. You may chose different sizes.

  4. I would second astrobuf's recommendation.  A good Plasma Display Panel will beat out any LCD or DLP out there.  However I disagree that DLP is a "Dead End" technology.  Many people like them for the availability of larger screens at cheaper prices.  And with advances in Laser DLP technology the viewing angle, which is the only MAJOR drawback to a DLP over LCD will be fixed.

  5. I prefer LCDs to DLP hands down. DLP is still a newer technology so they are working out the kinks. While you can get a bigger size with DLPs, the seems to break down more often than LCDs. Also, most quality LCDs look great from just about any angle while DLPs are less forgiving in that area.

Ultimately, it comes down to what is important to you. If you really want the size, go for the DLP. If you want durability and slimness, the LCD is the way to you.

You could always compromise and get a slightly larger LCD for around $1800.
