What Hamster Supplies Should I get?

Question

I might be getting a hamster in a few weeks, and I don't know what supplies to get. What kind of cages and bedding will you recommend?

And what type of toys should I get? Should I get a hamster cage with 2 levels? Or use my fish tank? HELP!

Bedding - I use original CareFresh

Water bottle

Small food dish

Wheel - If you get a dwarf, you can get a 4" wheel, and if you get a syrian/standard you can get a 7" wheel or larger.

A well balanced commercial hamster mix, I use Sunscription Vita+Plus Hamster and Gerbil Diet.

A chewing block, I get Hamsteroids and a gray block thing.

For treats, you can get small, dry dog treats, and any hamster treat the store has.

For cages, if you have a 10 gallon tank or larger, that's very clean, you could use that, and if you want it to have more room, you can get a cage level addition; it's just another level with a ramp.

If you don't, then you should get a cage; if it's a barred cage, and has ramps, make sure the ramps aren't steep, or they are mesh. If it's a tank, 10 gallons or more.

The bigger the better!

Toys: you should get at least two toys, and get whatever you think would be most entertaining to your future hammy.

Ok ok! Well I suggest getting any cage by the brand "CritterTrail." I will give you a link for it down below, but first...make sure you do not get wood shavings as bedding! That can cause serious respiratory problems for your hammy! I got my hamster (his name is Spanky!) a 3 story cage and he LOVES it! Although hes getting pretty fat where he cant go up and down the tubes...anyways lol a fish tank would be good too, but your hamster needs stuff to explore! It's in there nature! That's why I have a billion tunnels for him to explore through. He plays all day, and sleeps all night. It's very convenient. Well I hope this helps! you should get a critter trail cage the best bedding is care fresh the second best is aspen you should get a hamster ball it exercises them and they love it and on which cage you should get it depends on how small or big

WHATEVER U DO, DO NOT GET A SPINING WHEEL WITH HOLES IN IT, THAT ALMOST KILLED MINE, GET ONE THATS COVERD!

i think you havent done any research and i strongly recommend that you do or your hamster will have a miserable life. if you dont even know what to get your hamster, you should not be getting one, for goodness sake pick up a book or go on the internet and read for fifteen minutes, not that hard. do some research
