They fell apart offensively. They have great talent in their defensive category but their offense needs work. They have too many defensive minded forwards.

This is what happened to the Stars:

They had a good season, and made the playoffs.

In the first round, they played like their lives depended on it.  They did us all a favour by eliminating the Ducks - less blood on the ice all round, thanks!

In the second round, they played like their lives depended on it again.  I was up most of the night watching them win against the Sharks - I couldn't not see the outcome.

In the round against Detroit, they finally broke Turco's Joe Louis jinx and gave us some fun hockey, just couldn't get their offense together this time.  

They want to get a better class of spectator at their home games, though.  The ones at their game 3 loss were pretty crass.  Last night they weren't quite so bad, maybe they are learning.

look out for the stars in future seasons. they're young, have some solid quality postseason experience now, and will be making you BOO HOO for years to come.

They got into a hole early.....hard to come back. You have to give them credit for the effort they showed.

They played against a strong team.  

As a huge Stars fan myself, I wouldn't complain too much.  Hardly anybody thought the Stars would make it past the first round, much less into the conference finals.  The Stars did frakkin' awesome in the playoffs, even if they didn't make it to the Cup finals.

Just not the team to beat the wings.  Talented yes, but they probably wasted a lot of energy and emotion vs San Jose.  Turcco is a problem at times as well. Not enough scoring form the younger guys.  Kind of like sitting back and waiting and watching the vets (Modano, Morrow, Richards) do everything. Not as deep or passionate nor a complete team like the Wings
