What Happened To Zuko's Mom In Avatar?

I love avatar and i can answer just about any question about it but I want to know what happened to Zuko's mom are they gonna start a new series or what

she left right? well only ozai knows where she is. in sozin's comet, zuko goes to ozai's jail cell and asks where his mom was right? that was a cliffhanger...:[

they won't do anything about it though, bummer!

What I heard is that the writers couldn't agree on how to answer the question about Zuko's mom, so they just left it out. About Azula, though -- in an interview with the creators, they said that Azula wound up in a mental health facility. They also said that they want to do more with the Avatar story, so hopefully we'll all get our questions answered eventually!

I'll just say, though, that the general consensus seems to be that Zuko's mom disappeared in order to save him. His father was ordered to kill him, and was supposedly going to go through with it -- and it's been speculated that either Zuko's mom sacrificed herself to save him, or wound up being the one to kill the Fire Lord so that Zuko's father wouldn't have to kill him after all (if she did that, she would have to leave and go into hiding).

What happened to Zuko's mom, what about Tophs relationship with her parents, what happened to Azula since Aang didn't take away her powers, is there anything more about the White Lotus, do benders get powers from their parents or their environments, have anymore Air benders been born that just don't have a teacher... there are actually a LOT of questions unanswered! We don't know because they never answered those things.

BUT that can be a good thing! It just makes there more of a reason for the series to continue later! I really do think that there's going to be a time skip (a year or two) and these questions might be answered. Remember, in 2012ish there's going to be a live action Avatar movie. So the people who put together Avatar are still loosely connected.
