What Happened in Round Four of the Currie Cup?

The fourth round of the 2010 Currie Cup went down over the weekend, and all the teams competed hard as they continued to try and work themselves into a top four position. Western Province continued to look in fine form, while the Sharks added to their already impressive tournament.
Griquas 41 Leopards 27
The Griquas dominated the Leopards on the road, as Naas Olivier continued his already impressive tournament, notching 21 points in the win.
The Leopards looked to be in fine form earlier on as they notched a try from Michael Bondesio and a penalty from Niell Jacobs in the first 12 minutes to take a 10-0 lead.
The Griquas came to life at the end of the first half, as they converted three tries to take a 24-10 lead into the break.
After the half, the Griquas continued to pressure the home side, and put the game out of reach with a try from Bjorn Basson and a penalty from Olivier.
Western Province 54 Pumas 13
Western Province controlled a one-sided affair from start to finish, as they held onto the top of the table after round four.
Province took a 35-3 lead into the second half getting two first half tries from winger Gio Aplon.
In the second half, it was more of the same, as the home side dominated the match, adding salt to the Puma’s wounds with a try from Engelbrecht.
Natal Sharks 25 Cheetahs 13
The Natal Sharks completed a tough come-from-behind victory over the Free State Cheetahs over the weekend.
The Cheetahs came out of the first half as the winners, as both teams exchanged penalties and the Cheetahs’ Tewis de Bruyn scored the only try of the half.
After the break, the two sides once again exchanged penalties, making the score 13-6 for the home side.
The Sharks finally came to life with only nine minutes remaining in the match, Eugene Van Staden managed to rumble his way to try, but Pat Lambie missed the conversion.
With four minutes to go, the Sharks made a stunning run, ending in a Pat Lambie try and conversion to take the lead and give them the victory.
Blue Bulls 32 Golden Lions 18
The Blue Bulls finally got back on track after losing two straight games. The Bulls got the best of the Lions, defeating them on the road in an all important game for the defending champions
The game remained incredibly tight until the second half with the Bulls' Jacque-Louis Potgieter doing most of the work.
The Bulls had the lead by one at the half after Potgieter notched three penalties to keep them in front.
After the break, the Bulls began to take over, with three straight penalties from Potgierter the Bulls led 25-15 in the 53rd minute.
Potgieter then put the game on ice, adding a try of his own, while notching the conversion to make the lead 32-18 in the 63rd minute.
