What Happens When A NASCAR Driver Has To Take A Wiss?

Do they have absorbant underwear underneath their firesuits? I just wondered because at Dover last year I heard Carl Edwards complain he had to go.

Think someone asked the other day and like they said they just go in their suit. Sounds nasty to me esp. with all that heat but supposedly it absorbs it lol.

This is serious: How do Winston Cup drivers go to the bathroom during the race? It's one of those questions everybody asks, but no one seems to know the answer.

There is no such thing as a bathroom break. You time it like you're going to a four-hour conference, or something similar -- go just before, and immediately after. And the only thing that can really mess you up is when you have a red flag, and you can't get out of the car. And there's a mild rain, and it's running down the windshield ... That creates a huge problem. But once you get back on the track, you forget all about those things.

It's usually not an issue because it gets so hot, and you're using so many fluids out of your body. I've actually run a 500-mile race and realized two hours later that, 'Hey, I didn't go to the bathroom afterwards.' Back when I raced, I remember tests being done on those sort of things, and I lost 14 pounds of fluids in one race. You hardly ever hear people talk about it because it's just not a problem that we even consider.

I remember the Tony Stewart piece, he won that race and had to skip victory lane and it was more than just doing the number one, he done the number 2, but he did have a virus, gotta give it to him, he stuck it out.

It's actually a good question, but face it folks, is  there really a pill that can stop when mother nature calls?  If there is, I wanna know the name of it so that I can give it to my kids on vacation trips. HA HA  The dont have to go as often as folks think just for the simple fact that they sweat most of their fluids out.  I think that if they need to go, they just go, that's why folks get "washed off" in victory lane.

It is so hot inside the cars and their fire suits they sweat most of their body fluids out.  They usually don't have to go at all.  Their biggest problem, especially on long races, is dehydration.

tony supposedly did more than that one race - upset stomach/flu was bothering him all weekend.  so he went out, ran the fastest, won the race, disappeared for 45 minutes, then did his interviews in a new clean firesuit.
