What Happens When You Reuse Hair Dye?

The package always says to never save it and to never reuse it. I was wondering if anyone has tried it because my friend saved some black dye from a couple months ago and we want to do streaks.

We don't have a car or any money so we can't go to the store and get more. So should we wait? What's the risk?

I mixed and used opened month old colour and developer  (didn't need it all the first time) yesterday... put light brown on blond and ended up with ashy purple tone!

Don't do it!!!!!   guess the instructions on the box are there for a reason.....
