Ok, so say you've consumed 600 calories today. You go to the gym, and do your Cardio. and you burn 800 calories. Does burning more calories then you ate hurt your body? What does it burn after it burt all the calories so far?

I heard that it starts burning muscle. Is that true?

Also, if you know of a website where I can find out how many calories I should consumer a day, that'd be great! By the way, I'm a 15 Y.O. male.

Thanks! =]

  1. Your body will burn fat first in the absence of food.  Honestly, you would have to be literally starving to death before your body started burning muscle...its much too hard to burn.  Fat is easy to burn.  When I was in the Army Ranger School I knew I started burning muscle when me clothes began smelling like ammonia.  If you smell like ammonia...eat more.

  2. Well, When you work out that much it will build more muscle than it burns so your mostly burning fat. To find out how many calories you should consume you can calculate your BMR. For men, you're BMR is calculated by adding 66 + (6.23 x weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years). Hope this helped!
