What Helmets are the best?

Question

Are Print helmets not any good for racing because they are "print" helmets or is a helmet a helmet and if so what brands are in the top for MX racing?

ARAI!!!!! yes they are expensive, but i've wrecked hard enough to crack them and walk away un injured.. I've seen people do the same with cheap helmets and its not pretty.. if ya want something a little bit cheaper than go with a SHOEI, they are a good helmet also.. just don't buy a $100 helmet and expect it to protect ya because it wont!!

The best helmets are those which best protect your noggin in the event you fall off.

Don't compromise on a cheap helmet.

I'd recommend one that's been Snell approved.

Different people have different preferences, the important thing is to get one that fits. try on a few. if you can get one fitted by someone who knows what they are doing. remember its your head that's going to be in it. and it the only thing between your head and the ground. Its Important.

Buy the best you can afford. that does not mean the most expensive, it means a good brand name and comfortable.

Don't buy second hand.

As far as safety, make sure it is Snell and Dot approved. It should say somewhere that they meet their specific safety requirements. Then regarding the look, they are all equal. It is your personal preference.

troy lee designs is a very nice and top rated helmet, although very expensive.... i dont own one.... mine is fox... but i always think of it this way when it comes to something being expensive like that... HOW MUCH IS YOUR HEAD WORTH?!
