    The money you received from unemployment must be reported on the tax return.  So is any money you have withheld for taxes.  (Always agree to having 10% withheld.  You do not have 'allowances' like you do with a w-4.)

    If you are applying for benefits, the unemployment office will use your earnings history...the same W-2s you use on your tax returns.
