Depends on your definition of "rich".

From the wealth perspective... you need to earn more than you spend, save, invest, hit to lotto, start a successful business, be the best at what you do so you are paid, etc, etc...

Then many would consider the richest men, the ones that are happy.

Some through families, friends, church etc, etc... Check out the old movie "its a wonderful life"  George, the main character is declared the "richest man" as result of a life of care and passion that come back to save him for an impossible situation.

If your definition of rich is measured in money here is the plan. Continually live on less than you make and save the difference. The larger the percentage you don't spend the faster you will accumulate money to invest.

While working to save money spend time to learn about money and investing. You can learn from many sources, but be warned that many will have a motive to have you invest in some plan of theirs.

Resist the temptation to become rich quickly, accumulate your money, and good worthwhile opportunities will come your way. Be certain to thoroughly examine each one, never allow anyone to rush you, put your financial education to work,  and you will be fine.
