  1. Take them to a nice dinner where you can see the nice view of the falls, or go on the mist! It would really be fun, although I've never tried it before. Ride on the sky wheel with your wife it's pretty romantic up there! It's true and we can't do anything about the cost of foods, etc at N.falls but i mean it's worth staying there! =] have fun

  2. Go through the tunnel system that takes you behind the falls.  Many don't even know it exists, and the roar of the water from there is the best way to appreciate the sheer force at work.

Don't hop in a barrel on the Canada side no matter how hard someone tries to get you to : -)

  3. go white water rafting.

  4. on the american side go to the Cave of the winds. It costs around $8 a person and will give you the best shower ever :D  It takes you right up to the falls and slightly behind. They have to rebuild them every year because of the winter and they are awesome each year.

  5. The best way to see Niagara Falls Canada is by getting the Niagara Parks Adventure pass. Availible trhough the Niagara Parks Commission

for $40 you save about 40 dollars on the things you get for the pass and discounts on the actual attractions

I agree that cave of the winds is a great attraction on the US side. Make sure you spend some time on Goat Island.

While in NIagara take in some history by going to see Fort Niagara, in Youngstown NY too.

  6. For a nice dinner try Copacabana.

  7. Maid of the Mist a must.

  8. While you and your wife are across the border in Canada here are some lesser known things to check out.

    1. The Niagara Glen. Just past the whirlpool is the Niagara Glen, a tricanopy mini-rainforest experience that exists as a function of rich silt deposited there 5,000 years ago. Amazing trails and beautiful scenery. Check out the boulders that once sat at the base of the falls when it was there..they have been bored out by grains of sand! Once you get all the way down to the bottom (as the trails run down the escarpment) you are face to face with class 4 rapids. Be sure to wave at the speedboat tours that will be buzzing by you.

    2. The Butterfly Terrarium. Walk through the butterfly terrarium, a hot greenhouse/jungle artifical atmosphere, and observe thousand of different butterflies living all around you. A totaly amazing experience!

    3. The Screaming Tunnel! Ok, here's the protocal. While in Niagara Falls, go rent Stephen King's movie The Dead Zone. There is a scene where a sheriff finds a dead guy in a tunnel and calls the protagonist to help him investigate it. This scene was filmed at the screaming tunnel of Niagara Falls, and it is hands down the scariest place you will ever go! Legend has it that the tunnel was built as a service road for an old mansion that no longer exists. The story says the owner of the mansion found out his wife was fooling around so he (ugh alert, this is gruesome) lit her on fire, and she ran screaming out of the mansion and died in the tunnel. To this day, supposedly, if you light a match in the tunnel after midnight you will hear her scream and the match will blow out. To get there, get on to Stanley Blvd and follow it out until it becomes Thorold Stone road. Go out a ways, look for Beechwood road and take that right. Follow Beehwood across the railroad tracks and turn right onto Warner road. The Screaming Tunnel will be on your left.

    4. Have a meal at the Flying Saucer restaurant! Located out on Lundy's Lane, near the intersection of Dorchester Road. OUTSTANDING wings, pizza, etc.. all housed in a kitchy flying saucer looking thing. Well worth the trip across the falls all by itself. If your looking for finer dining with an outstanding view of the falls, check out the Skylon Tower. Similar to the CN Tower (only 555 feet tall though), the tower serves nice food in its revolving rooftop restaurant.

    5. The Drummond Hill Cemetery. Also located just off of Lundy's Lane, this is the actual site of the battle of Lundy's Lane, during the war of 1812. So many men fell here in battle it was converted into a cemetery. Canadian National hero, Laura Secord is buried here. A fantastic place to explore for the history buff, or the just curious.

    Enjoy your trip!!!
