  1. catch some bluegill. and use pieces of it as bait.

    Works everytime.

  2. bluegills ( brim), shad, chubs, and goldfish. but don't throw your dead bait away because catfish like dead bait. just make sure to cut your dead bait at an angle behind the eyes because catfish go after the eyes.

  3. anything smelly my best bait is a head of a herring that has been in the sun for a day good luck an good fishin

  4. Shad, or stink bait. You can catch the shad with a net and you can buy the stink bait at the tackle store. Chicken liver works but it just falls apart when u put it on the hook

  5. Some like stink baits and hotdogs and some like cut and live bait.

  6. cut bar soap up into chunks - my grandfather used it on his trot-lines in the St Johns River in Florida - alway caught them!!

  7. buy a few things of chicken liver open them up let them sit in the sun away from stray animals for days and rot. use some to chum the water and then use the others they will be tough enough to stay on your hook. most store bought stink baits will never catch u a fish.

  8. Chicken liver.

  9. Shad works good but I like to cut it up a little to make it bleed. Catalpa worms are also good for catfishing.

  10. Chicken liver can be good at times....hot dogs are good if your dropping your line straight down(comes off easy if you cast with it) I would stick with stink bait....I also sometimes use uncooked bacon....really throws out a lot of scent! The one other thing that my wife and I use it Danny Kings Punch Bait....talk about some STINKY STUFF!!!! Catfish LOVE IT!!!

  11. Fresh chicken liver wrapped in a piece of panty hose. No kidding the panty hose helps keep the bait on longer. Has nothing to do with bait.
