What IS mythology I'm taking Mythology for my senior english and don't know what it is?!

I'm taking Mythology for English for my senior year and I have no Idea what it is....can someone explain it to me please?

it's the study of myths (you know, fiction?)

you then will be studying myths of ancient greece, rome and other places with very interesting beliefs..

its fun...you get to study their idols,..gods,..and their other dieties.. but mostly about their beliefs.

it is fun to study those I really enjoyed it in high school You can take a theology course too, it would be on present day religions and their history
