What does philosophy mean to you? Do you have some kind of personal philosophy that you follow and listen to daily? :]

Branches of philosophy: Metaphysics, epistemology, ethics. political philosophy, aesthetics, logic, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language.

&#039;do onto others as you would want them to do onto you&#039; this is a good philosophy to start with because it teaches people how to interact with others, one of the most important things in life, etc.

Literally &#039;the love of wisdom&#039;.

One could go on about philosophy as an educational subject providing training in the disciplined analysis and clarification of theories, methods and utterances of all kinds.

To me philosophy means to question everything especially my own motives for doing or not doing things.

At the present time I am of the opinion that eventually someone will come up with a better answer.

An amalgamation of Christ&#039;s teachings and Schopenhauer, the 19th c German Philosopher.  Both speak of the emptiness of striving after the immediate, the reward in denying our urges for something greater.  A tough haul, but one that has the search for truth as the underlying principle.

The greek prefix &quot;phil&quot; means love . eg. &quot;Phil&quot;adelphia, &quot;Phil&quot;anthropy .. the greek suffix &quot;sophy&quot; means knowledge so &quot;Philosophy is basically the love of knowledge.

philosophy to me, is different perceptions on all of the concepts of life.

me, I don&#039;t have anything I really Follow or believe. I just work off of and ponder what thoughts I can get from others or certain things in life.

The belief that drives you is your philosophy.  It does not matter if your belief is correct or not.  If it drives you, then it is your philosophy.  

Some think that they are ugly even though at one time they have won a beauty pageant, but still, that is the belief that drives their philosophy and makes them want plastic surgery or whatever.
