  1. Personally, I think anything you buy in a frame at KMart ISN"T art!! LOL I think though that bringing something from nature...a plant or a rock or a pinecone...would work. I mean, art is a creation of man, not god. Right? Hope this helped.

  2. Something that isn't art would be something that is purely functional, with no thought to design.  A cup would actually have been designed, and a magazine would usually have all sorts of art in it.

How bout a bar of soap?  A s***w? A rock?  An spark plug or distributor cap?  An envelope?  A light bulb?  A pencil?

Your proffessor is probably going to show you how art touches all of life and will probably be showing how most of the items brought in would have some element of art in them.  If it were me, I'd be trying to stump him...

  3. Bring in nothing, because everything is art...

  4. Everythin's art .. except one thing ..

and it's your "FEELING" .. Feeling is not art ..

Because it conveys the art in you .. but it's not art ..

  5. The point here is that almost everything can be considered art in the art sense, even a rock or dirt. The question at hand would be who is the artist? Nature over time changes and molds the shape of both rocks. I would say water, but only by itself, as soon as you put it in a container, it could be making a statement, and therefore art. Art is too complex of an idea to be narrowed down. Art is determined by the beholder, no matter what it is.

As an example, I have heard of an artist putting f***s in a teddy bear and sewing it up and stated that it was a representation of a truth, it may look soft and cuddly on the outside, but it is full of sh*&! Sorry to be gross, but it was just a weird example. Anything with a form is art, so I personally do not think this is possible, but good luck anyway.

  6. I would take a rock.  This isn't designed or created by man, so I think it would work.

  7. well, there was this guy who recently opened an art exhibit with huge blocks of plasticized f***s..... you could do that.
