  1. The Cherokee, my tribe.  They were great conquerors of other tribal lands and created a prosperous empire for themselves.

  2. Civilization means cities.  So I'd have to say the Aztec or Inca.

Oh, and Sioux apparently weren't so advanced that they didn't abandon it all for horse culture, as quick as they could.

  3. The Maya were clearly the most advanced native American culture in terms of the sophistication of their architecture, their use of written language, their amazingly precise astronomical observation and calendrical calculation, their advanced mathematical system, and so on.

Of course, this is not to say that one culture is better than another -- the Inca were the best stone workers, the Aztecs built an extensive empire, the Algonquins of the American northeast developed political structures that influenced the U.S. colonists, the peoples of Colombia were skilled goldsmiths, etc. Each culture has something to offer.

  4. it depends on what you mean by advanced. advanced it what way? the aztecs were quite advanced and imperious. on the other hand, the olmecs were incredibly advanced in their construction of monolithic statues and drainage systems. advanced is a very subjective term and can be interpreted in many ways and at differect epochs. each culture; the aztecs, olmecs, etcs, were the most advanced in their region at their specific time. you cannot compare each one to another because they appear in separate times.

  5. The Sioux Nation.  They were a culture that lived in sinc with nature.  Maybe the most advanced and developed for this simple reason alone.
