What Is Better LCD or PLASMA? - Why?

Question

I want to buy a 42inch panasonic flat screen tv - however I am unsure on what type of tv I want to buy - lcd or plasma - I would be using the tv for normal use, dvds, sky, blue-ray and playstation 3 games.

Can you please advise me further with sufficient reasons why to go for lcd or plasma.

chi guy is right. if you plan on gaming alot then go lcd you wont have to worry about the burn-ins

LCD by far. However, plasma's cost less.

The diff used to be that LCD only went up to 47" and Plasma went up tp 93". This is no longer the case.

Plasma also has a slightly deeper color due to deeper blacks. Other than that. LCD technology is superior to Plasma and is getting better while Plasma has not changed much.

LCD

- weighs less

- less power consumption = less heat

- less glare from external light

- no image "burn in"

- less prone to failure

- longer shelf life

- common technology (all PC monitors are now LCD)

Plasma

- less expensive (20% or so)

- very slightly "deeper" color (due to deeper black)

My opinion is that LCD TV is growing in technology so quickly due to LCD being around for so many years and being used by every PC/Laptop/Cellular company. This creates a pool of engineering experience/expertise that Plasma simply does not have to draw from.

ILL SHOUT IT IF I HAD TO ITS LCD LCD LCD LCD   AND   LCD     i think that u should go for an other company seriously panasonic sucks i like samsung
