Question:

What Is On My Kitty's Paw?

I found a baby kitten. She is a little skinny but health looking. Earlier I was playing with her and I noticed one of her paws has white hard stuff around it. I thought maybe it was crusted or some kind of food stuck to her paw but when I examined it closer, her paw is open. Like it has a big chunk missing connecting to the fur. When I touch it she doesn't seem bothered or concerned. I don't know what to do. I can't really afford to go to the vet right now. Does anyone know what this might be?

  1. mabye , u could pick it off or give it a really good bath

  2. call local vets anyway. they do a lot of charity work and offer payment plans. this kitten could have worms,FIV, feline leukemia, and needs fixed. call around and see what u can find out. rescue organizations also can help you in exchange for volunteer work

  3. Cats won't act in pain or bothered b/c it puts them at risk for being prey..  Yes even around you...  Call a vet before necrosis or another nasty infection sets in...  I am sooo not being nasty but as a pet owner it's up to us to make sure we can afford them, I have cash stored away in case of emergencies, and I have a vet whom I seeked out that isn't just fabulous but will do financing for me..  I have been using them since I was a kid so age isn't a factor...  Unless it's a major to do unexpected surgery that costs 3000.00 on no notice, there really should be no such thing is not having money for vet care, we wouldn't do that to our kids..  IMO if you can't afford the vet you can't afford the pet, emergencies arise, they should be expected.

  4. Like he said.

Call Local Vets and see if they can do anything.

Hopefully they will know what it is.

Maybe its just that it stepped in ink or something.

Because if it is hurting or affecting it in anyway I'm sure it will start to leap, or struggle with walking.

I hope your kitty feels better.

    :]
