  1. Something between ~45000 and 65535

    Don't choose any reserved ports or 6881-6999


  2. It doesn't matter what port you open through your router. The torrent's speed is limited by how many seeders there are and how fast your internet connection is. Try setting your upload and download speeds to unlimited if they already aren't set.

    Having your upload speed unlimited will sometimes slow internet browsing and cause problems with your phone system if it is through your isp.  

  3. There's not generally a port that's going to be better than another. The best way to make sure uTorrent is quick is just to pick a port and make sure it is forwarded correctly in your router. Also it takes a bit of time to connect to people so it speeds up the longer it is downloading (unless there are not a lot of seeds or peers.) So try to find torrents with a good mix of both seeds and peers for the best speeds.
