  1. I also use Wilson US Open tennis balls but really it doesn't matter

The main thing you should look for is that they are standard balls with either "extra duty" for outdoor hard surfaces or "regular" for indoor or softer surfaces

Many brands have these two types.

  2. i've been playing Dunlop lately, it has the lowest price and truethful bounce.  but i have also encounter some inconsistant quality.

Penn tends to wear out too fast, the density of the hair is not good enough. it feels really light after an hour of hitting.

Wilson's feel varies a lot between different models, for example, titanium feels as hard as a rock when the temperture is low.

  3. By far the best ball I've played with are the Dunlop Grand Prix tennis balls.  They have the best durability, but they are very hard.  The unfortunate thing is that they are not used in many tournaments.

  4. It depends what surface you play on. If you play on outdoor hard courts, you should use the Wilson US Open Extra Duty. If you play on clay more often or on indoor courts, you should use the same brand but the Regular Duty. The difference is the thickness of the felt. the Extra Duty has more felt so the ball lasts longer on the rough outdoor hard courts. The Regular Duty balls have thinner felt for the softer surfaces.

  5. My favorite is the Wilson Titanium.
