  1. We give ours a CD&T vaccination yearly.  CD&T helps protect against overeating disease and also tetanus.  It is recommended almost everywhere.  In some areas a rabies vaccination is also recommended.

Make sure to worm your goats regularly also!  What you use will depend on where you live, but one of the best wormers to use on non-pregnant goats is Valbazen.  It is effective against almost all types of internal parasites and works almost everywhere.  It should not be used in the first 45 days of pregnancy, however.

Check for external parasites (lice, mites) regularly.  Goats pick them up from migrating birds in the spring & fall.  (Don't worry, you can't get them and neither can your dogs/cats) To get rid of them the easiest thing to do is sprinkle the goat with 5% Sevin Garden Dust.  Ivomec injectable cattle wormer is also effective, as is a bath with canine flea shampoo.  Sevin is the easiest treatment and works the longest.

  2. Go to a farm store and look in the livestock area and ask a worker there! Or see a vet

  3. Go to the vet!

  4. Only a vet will be able to answer that. It will depend on the land s/he is on, what s/he does, if s/he works, how big s/he is etc. But one thing I will warn you about is Fervac D, this has been cut out of most medical care for them but some still use it and it is VERY dangerous, it has caused alot of animals to go into shock from it being used.
