  1. I couldn't find exactly what you are looking for, but I did find the 'Regulated Water Management Area' of the Macquarie River. This seems to cover the area of the river itself, plus a certain amount of the area where run-off comes from to fill the river.

    The area is 12,294 km, squared. Where I got that figure from can be seen in the box on the right of the 'Water Cycle Report' diagram on the following website, when you click on the 'Water Balance' tab.
