  3. If it's not Vegemite, another thing it could be is treacle.  Treacle is another sugar by-product, like golden syrup or molasses.

    Vegemite is Australia's answer to Welch's Concord Grape Jelly.

  9. Vegemite. I had two cheese and vegemite sandwiches at work today. Yummmmmmmmm. I sent a jar of vegemite to a mate in the US and he spat it out. It is an acquired taste as we all have it from when we are kids. It is also meant to be good for mouth ulcers??? lol, Ella.

Yeah, what Ozmaniac says... just don't ever mistake it for chocolate (or anything sweet for that matter).  If you are not from Oz, you will probably think that it tastes like old yeast that sat out for a few rainy days.  After a while of eating it, it gets kinda tasty.  I figure that it is really Kraft's way of punishing Aussies for not eating more Mac & Cheese.

    I apologize if I offended any Vegemite fans out there - I actually like it, but I haven't been able to get anyone outside of Australia to.

    I like Ozmaniac's answer, personally... I'm just being a smartass.
