What Is Zab Judah Trying To Pull?

I see Zab is scheduled to fight Joseph Clottey in August.

This makes me woner if Zab's arm injury was for real or if it was self-inflicted to enable him to get out of his scheduled fight with Shane Mosley.

  1. What you don't realize is that Zab missed out on a big payday, win or lose.  He lost a lot of money now that he is fighting Clottey.  Why in the world would he miss out on millions?? He is probably pretty upset about that situation....don't you think? Boxer don't like to miss BIG paydays dude...They do like money.

  2. Judah saw what he is probably thinking is an easy opportunity to win a vacant title by going after Clottey. If indeed that's what Judah is thinking, then he is in for a very long night..... one that will be a nightnare.

It is disappointing to see Mosley and Judah not fight, especially since years back, Judah was chasing after Mosley, when they were both in smaller divisions.... and Mosley was the one moving up, first. Anyway, now, I think Judah simply is looking at the name and figure the Clottey would be easier to handle and at the same time possible win a title again. Where against Mosley, he probably feels he's in a tougher fight and is not earning a title in a possible win. Clottey will be just as tough as Mosley, so for Judah's sake, I hope his mind is in the right place come fight night.

  3. You better believe it Woody. Joshua Clottey is too much for Judah. Judah is a natural jr Welter. Clottey is a natural jr middle weight. Clottey loves to walk in with those Winky wright defense arms up, putting combos to the body and head. Clottey is a south paw worst nightmare. I like Judah but if he is jumping around looking for ease fights, he need to go after guy's like, Quintana and Cintron. I would like to see Clottey vs Cotto. Clottey is a good pockett fighter and dont give you much to work with. Clottey also fights off of his defense and a very skilled boxer.

  4. The arm injury was real, but the excuse that Zab Judah and his people gave was fake.  The reason why Zab got the cut was because he got into an argument with his father/trainer Yoel Judah and he threw a temper tantrum.  As a result, he punched the glass shower door and got a really bad cut on his arm.

As far as his fight with Joshua Clottey goes, there are a few reasons why he is taking it:

    1.  It is an opportunity to win a vacant world title and get his name back in the spotlight.

    2.  He is ranked number 3 in the world by the IBF and Clottey was ranked number 1.  Number 2 was Andre Berto, but he just won the vacant WBC title, so Zab was the next highest ranked available contender and as a result, he gets the opportunity to fight for the vacated title against Clottey.

    3.  He is running out of opportunities and this may be his last chance at being a real player in the welterweight division.  He's really lucky that he's even getting this opportunity after the Mosley fight got cancelled and he simply could not pass this chance up.  After his recent record in big-time fights, its a shame that he was ranked that high by the IBF, but then again you can never trust any of the sanctioning bodies for fairness.  He loses lopsidedly to Floyd Mayweather, Jr., gets thrashed by Miguel Cotto, then beats 2 journeyman fighters, but yet he is now in a position to win a vacant world title.  I personally think that Clottey will win, but Zab has to realize that this is probably his last chance and he should really make the most out of it.
