What Is a Kick Safe in 9 ball pool?

I was just wanting to know what is a kick safe in 9 ball pool?

and i also wanted to know what if hit the cue ball off a rail and put it behind an object ball that is blocking the ball that neeeds to be pocketed. The cue ball doesnt touch the ball. Is this legal?

  1. If you are hooked (in a position where you can't hit the object ball directly), often times you need to hit a rail first to make contact. This is often referred to as kicking. Now if you kick the ball and leave your opponent hooked, you have just kicked safe. Hope that makes sense.

    As far as part 2,  No it is not legal.

    2 reasons, in layman's terms. For specific rules, see the BCA rules for 9 ball at the site below.

    1. You must always contact the low ball on the table first for it to be a legal shot.(except on a push out after the break)

    2. After making contact with the low ball on the table, the cue ball or any object ball must hit a rail or an object ball must be pocketed.

    Failure to comply with these rules results in a foul and ball-in-hand for the opponent.


  2. A kick safe is when you hit a cushion then your ball then make rail contact for a safty

    Your shot would be a foul even if you did hit it you would need rail contact also
